Step 1: Create Smart Contract First
Make sure you have already deployed a smart contract first using the Thirdweb platform. If you have not done this yet, then check out our guide on creating a Thridweb ERC-721 smart contract.
Step 2: Log into Thirdweb
Go to thridweb.com and log in to your account. Login by connecting your MetaMask wallet to Thirdweb, using the network where your smart contract is located.
Step 3: Get Started
After successfully logging into Thirdweb using your MetaMask, proceed by clicking the “Get Started” button.
Step 4: Go into Settings
Go into your Thirdweb settings, by clicking the “Settings” button.
Step 5: Go into API Keys
Now click on “API Keys” to access the API section in your Thirdweb.
Step 6: Create an API Key
To enable the functionality of your mint button, you will need an API key. Click on the “+ API Key” button to initiate the process of generating one. This will allow you to securely run your mint button and ensure smooth operation.
Give you API key a name.
You will now be presented with some options that you can click on and off. The default options should be ok for most projects.
You will need to write the domain name of the website where your mint button will go. For example, our mint button is on one of our Crypto Dreams website pages. By writing in our domain name cryptodreams.co.uk it means this is the only website where our API key can be used. This is important as it helps to keep things more secure.
Step 7: Go into Contracts Section
To access your created smart contracts in Thirdweb, navigate to the “Contracts” section. This is where all your deployed smart contracts are stored.
Step 8: Select Smart Contract
Select your smart contract. In this example we are selecting an Ethereum smart contract called House of Toys. Once you have selected the contract, you will be able to view its details, interact with its functions, and access its associated data on the Thirdweb platform.
Step 9: Click Embed
To access the embed code section in Thirdweb, simply click on the “Embed” button. This will allow you to enter the area where you can find the embed code.
Step 10: Customise Mint Button
The NFT Drop page on thirdweb.com simplifies the process of incorporating NFT drop mint buttons into creators’ websites, eliminating the need for coding knowledge. By accessing the embed page, you can obtain the necessary HTML iframe code to achieve this functionality. However, it is important to have your own website where you can place the embed code. The HTML iframe code provided by thirdweb.com can be seamlessly integrated into various website platforms, including Carrd, Webflow, Bubble, and WordPress. To utilise the code effectively, you must first generate an API key, as explained in previous steps. Once you have obtained the API key, you can proceed to customise the appearance of your mint button by adjusting the Theme and Primary Colour settings. By doing so, you can ensure that the mint button aligns with the overall design of your website. To visualise the outcome, a preview is conveniently available at the bottom of the page, allowing you to assess the appearance before implementing the changes.
Step 11: Insert Embed Code into Website
Click the “Copy to clipboard” button, which is located under the Embed Code.
And then paste the embed code into your website page. If you are using WordPress, you can easily add HTML to your page as a block. Simply create an HTML block and paste the embed code into it. This allows for seamless integration of the code into your WordPress page. If you want to adjust the width and height of your mint button, then simply change the height and width pixel numbers in the pasted embed code.
